For breakfast we went to check out a little cafe, called Vudu, that we read about in the Lonely Planet guide. It turned out to be a great discovery. Their breakfast menu was creative and interesting and the place had a great vibe with some really cool artwork.
After breakfast we wandered around town and decided to ride the Skyline Gondola to the top of the mountain. The views of Queenstown were incredible so we grabbed a beer in the bar and a window seat to take it all in. We had a pretty spectacular view of a bungy jump area so we watched a couple crazy people take the short, but scary plunge. And of course we saw another rainbow.
There were two luge tracks at the top of the mountain so we bought tickets to ride the beginner track. We got in these little carts with handlebars that you pushed forward to move. The track was slick concrete that meandered around the side of the restaurant and ended up down by the bungy jump area. It was surprisingly fun. Unfortunately it was starting to drizzle so we called it quits.
It ended up raining pretty hard the rest of the day so we camped out in a restaurant and managed to score a fireside table. We nibbled on pizza and a salad and drank a bottle of wine by the fire. Later on we caught a big Rugby match at the pub and had a late dinner in a Thai restaurant. All in all a pretty lazy day.
