I had my last prenatal visit today. 6 days until baby comes. Although, Dr. Hank said baby is more than ready to make his appearance so it could be earlier. It better not!! We have everything planned for Monday morning.
I lost 3 pounds which brings my total weight gain for the pregnancy to 23 pounds. My fundal measurement is a whopping 45!! 45?!!? Doctor didn't gasp but did say that a 9 pounder is usually at 40. However, this baby is breech and breech babies do measure larger. Obviously, there's no way to know for sure until he comes out, but Dr. Hank said he wouldn't be surprised if this little guy was 10 pounds. Umm...
We spent the rest of the appointment going over the events of the big day and signing a bunch of paperwork. We talked more about the whole hemorrhaging thing. He is hopeful that I won't hemorrhage again since I'm not going into an emergency c-section after 20+ hours of hard labor...but delivering a big baby could be a trigger. I'm trying to not think about that, but it's there in the back of my mind. I just want it go as well as it can. I want to be able to hold and nurse this baby in Recovery. I wasn't able to do that with Noah because I was in such a bad way. I must just keep visualizing the way I want this to go. Oh, and taking my Iron supplements.
In other news I threw up this morning after eating the world's smallest breakfast. Acid Reflux SUCKS!!
You'll be fine. This being a planned c-section I really think will make all the difference. You're ready for it this time.
ReplyDeleteAnd even if you do hemorrhage... they got ya through it last time they'll get ya through it again. Aren't you and I the same blood type O-? If so I can always hop on a plan and come give ya some of the life juice. :)
... I am resisting the urge to tease you on the big baby thing... but I am curious to see if he'll top Moya's birth weight. :)
