Prenatal Visit: 35 weeks

Woke up at 3am vomiting. Really?!! This seems like cruel and unusual punishment for a hugely pregnant woman. In between sobs and spews I screamed ridiculously dramatic phrases like, "Oh God! Why me?!" In hindsight it seems a little silly but at the time I wanted to die.

Went to see Dr. Hank today for a prearranged prenatal appointment. Good timing. Besides the usual I did my Strep B test. I gained 3 pounds and my fundal measurement is at 37. Blood pressure is fine. Everything continues to be just fine.

Dr. Hank says I probably had a touch of some virus that got exacerbated by the heat and a touch of dehydration. He said I was lucky I didn't go into labor on the I-5. My body stress and conditions were ripe for it. :)  He was happy to hear that I'm not going anywhere else between now and when the baby comes. Having a baby on the Buttonwillow exit of I-5 would not have been pleasant. (Understatement of the year.)

I start my old lady testing next week--that's when I get hooked up to a monitor twice a week to make sure I have enough amniotic fluid which apparently can decrease after the age of 35. He said it's really just a formality because in the 2 years they've been doing this they have yet to find a woman over 35 who has decreased levels. And, clearly, my baby is not small or starving. :) I don't mind since it's only for a few weeks. I shall call it forced relaxation. I'm sure I'll lay there making lists.

Also, I got the confirmed time for my c-section.  It's scheduled for 7:15am on Monday, October 25th. Being the first surgery of the day means that the odds of me being bumped are slim, but it also means that we have to be there 2 hours ahead of time for check in and prep...gulp. 5:15am!!!
