My bachelorette party lasted 3 glorious days! It began on Friday around 1pm when Shannon, Jenifer and Melanie managed to squeeze me in Jen's car among mounds of groceries. We trekked up to Santa Rosa for lunch at East West Cafe (delicious!!) and then on to Korbel for some tastes of the goods. After a mild buzz set in we were off to a house rental in the Redwoods.
The house was a cute 2 story with a hot tub, massive deck and the steepest driveway ever. I wasn't permitted to do much of anything except sip on some beer and lounge. Slowly my girls began to show up one-by-one. After hours of lounging and not doing anything (!) I did manage to steal the broom for some covert deck clean-up action. But Melanie caught me and quickly scolded Steph who was apparently slacking on her don't-let-Melissa-do-anything-patrol. :)
Friday night we had an epic feast of pasta and wine.
Saturday we motivated out of the house by 11am for some wine tasting in the Russian River Valley. We hit up Hop Kiln, Rochioli, Belvedere and the Reserve room at Lambert Bridge where we overtook the place and consumed mass quantities of their cheese.
When we got home I was whisked outside for all-consuming deck lounge time. I reclined and got a facial from Lacy, manicure from Jane, pedicure from Melanie, tasty drinks from Stefi and chocolate from Steph. Heather ensured I was comfy by loaning me her pal Scruffy and Jen played the role of general vibologist. After that Lacy did my make-up, Darcy did my hair and then I was properly costumed for the most embarrassing photo session I will hopefully ever endure. I was rewarded with an awe inspiring fondue dinner and entertainment in the form of the silliest Lydia I have ever seen.
Besides their time, energy and talents my girls also treated me to some incredibly thoughtful gifts that made me feel overwhelmingly loved. They included:

- a handmade bag from Melanie with goodies
- a book of photos from Stefi
- a DVD of our 25+ years as friends from Shannon
- 12 drawings from Jill of a very International Melissa! (Who knew she could draw?!)
Thank you girls for a wonderful time
