Apparently I am not anything like the typical "guy" when it comes to this wedding thing. I have been very interested in the color palette, the flowers, the details, etc., and actually care about what I will be wearing and how the whole thing will come together.
This made getting tuxes more difficult than it should have been.
I had been into Men's Warehouse a few times and always left kind of mad. I was tired of stained grubby sample swatches, tiny pictures of suit styles and no samples in store. Tired of no/terrible style salesmen giving me their rehearsed script for renting tuxes.

- No, she isn't here with me
- Yes, I know what colors the bridesmaids are wearing (strange look whenI tell them they are moss and chocolate and bright fall themes)
- Yes, I want an ivory shirt and tie combo, yes she is wearing ivory, why else would I ask for it...
When brides go dress shopping, they try to make the experience feel special right? I know I'm just renting something, but is it too much to ask for some real fashion style, someone who has the sense to ask questions before droning on while flipping through pages of a book, someone who doesn't look shocked when I actually have an opinion about my wedding?
In the end we went back to a small shop in Santa Rosa that had each coat style out on mannequins with full size samples of each vest/tie style that I could pull out and hold up to the suits. We picked out something for me, something slightly different for my boys, and another style for our Dads. They will be beautiful, we will all look good and the whole thing will coordinate nicely with everything else we have picked out.
I just wish it wasn't so difficult to get what I knew I wanted.
