Asking Shannon and Jill

It was very important for me to ask all of the ladies to be in our wedding in person. I wanted it to be special and I wanted them to know how much their presence by my side meant. Unfortunately this was rather difficult since four of them lived out of town and far away.
We decided to start with Shannon and Jill who had recently moved four hours away to Los Osos. Shannon and I have been friends since we were 7 years old and I could tell she was rapidly becoming more and more anxious wondering why I wasn't asking her to be my Maid of Honor so Jeremy and I planned a sneak attack.
We have a mutual friend, Cole, who lives in an amazing house in Grover Beach so we thought it would be fun to have him invite the girls over to his house where we could suprise them. Friday night we drove to San Luis Obispo and spent the night at Sycamore Springs. After grocery shopping Saturday morning we set up shop at Cole's house where we made way too much food, set the table, and placed handwritten cards asking them to be in our wedding against a vase of flowers. Then we hid and waited.
When Shannon and Jill arrived they came down the stairs from the entrance and saw the table. We heard Shannon proclaim, "Cole, what have you done?!" We peaked around the corner to see them walk towards the two cards. After reading her card Shannon looked up confused--wondering why and how Cole had set the table and put out cards with Melissa's writing on them!?! At that point Jeremy and I gave up our hiding place by laughing. Everybody hugged, the girls cried and then we spent the rest of the evening eating, drinking and talking about all the plans.
